ANA HINMAN, REFERENCE LIBRARIAN, WASHOE COUNTY LAW LIBRARY
Ana Hinman, the new reference librarian at the Washoe County Law Library, will be speaking at our next meeting. So that you are up to date, here are some facts about Ana.
Ana Hinman is returning to her county library "roots" after working as the Reference/ Automation Librarian at the Creighton University School of Law Library from 1993 through the spring semester 2000. At Creighton, she taught Legal Research and Advanced Legal Research courses, managed several computer labs, and assisted patrons at the reference desk. Prior to beginning work at Creighton, Ms. Hinman was a librarian's assistant at the San Francisco County Law Library from 1991-1992. She received her JD from Hastings College of the Law, San Francisco in 1989, her MLS with a special certificate in law librarian-ship from University of Washington, Seattle in 1993, and most recently her MA in English from Creighton in May, 2000.
Ana is excited about having more opportunities to work with the public in a county library setting, and is looking forward to living in Reno. Now, she is closer to her family who live just on the other side of the pass in Angels Camp, California.

FAMILY COURT RULE CHANGE EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1
Beginning October 1, 2000, all divorce cases not involving children will be randomly assigned among the eight general jurisdiction judges of the Second Judicial District Court. These cases will be handled for all purposes by the general jurisdiction department assigned.
This policy is intended to be a temporary measure pending approval of an additional Family Court department by the Legislature. This action is taken to improve court management of the District's heavy domestic relations caseload.
Counsel are reminded of, and asked to comply with, Washoe District Court Rule 38(2) which provides that a filing by which child custody is at issue "shall identify in its title that custody is an issue".
